The Orange County Corrections Department Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)
Compliance addresses the requirements for personnel who have unescorted physical or virtual
access to Criminal Justice Information (CJI). CJIS Compliance is required for all Individuals,
including volunteers and vendor personnel, with access to criminal justice information.
What are the security requirements for personnel who access CJI?
The FBI’s Criminal Justice Services (CJIS) Security Policy requires all personnel with access to CJI
at the Orange County Corrections Department to complete national fingerprint‐based
background checks, security awareness training and sign statements to confirm an
understanding of CJI data and the laws mandating the protection of this data.
What is the Orange County Corrections Department’s role with CJIS Compliance?
The Orange County Corrections Department is a criminal justice agency and must meet the
minimum requirements of the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. The
department must confirm that all individuals meet full CJIS compliance prior to allowing
unescorted access to the facilities.
Vendor/Volunteer Compliance
- Each vendor/volunteer must schedule an appointment for fingerprinting using the Appointment Scheduler.
- Vendor/Volunteers must download, complete, and email the Account Management Request Form located in the Forms and Links section to CR-TrainingRequests@ocfl.net. Vendor/Volunteers will receive an email notification with instructions for completing the required CJIS Security Awareness Training.
- Vendors must also download and sign the FBI CJIS Security Addendum located in the Forms and Links section. Vendors must return the signed FBI CJIS Security Addendum to the Corrections Department.
- Both vendors/volunteers must provide the certificate of completion for the CJIS Security Awareness Training to the Corrections Department.
