Risk Management

Risk Management is responsible for administering the County's self-insurance program for workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability and property damage claims. In this capacity, the division helps to determine the proper mix of loss control (safety and environmental), risk transfer (purchase of insurance) and risk retention (self-insurance). The division is committed to running the most effective and efficient risk management program possible.

To better serve you, the division is divided into three sections:

  1. Claims Administration
  2. Insurance & Contracts
  3. Safety, Environmental and Loss Prevention 
Some of Our Duties

  • Administering workers' compensation and liability claims
  • Purchasing various insurance policies
  • Reviewing contracts and lease agreements to protect the County from potential liability
  • Safety, environmental and loss prevention program development, training, inspections, audits and assessments.
