  • The next application filing period for Regular Cycle Future Land Use Amendments is February 1 - February 26, 2010 for the Second Regular Cycle 2010.  Please note that a pre-application conference with the Comprehensive Planning Section is required prior to submitting an application.  Pre-application meetings will be held January 4 - January 29, 2010. 
  • The next application filing period for Small Scale Future Land Use Amendments is December 1 - December 22, 2009 for the First Small Scale Cycle 2010.  Please note that a pre-application conference with the Comprehensive Planning section is required prior to submitting an application.  Pre-application meetings will be held November 2 - November 23, 2009. 
  • The Florida Green Building Coalition, Green Local Government designation recognizes Green Cities and Counties for outstanding environmental stewardship.   Orange County became the first municipality in Florida to achieve the green local government certification at the Gold Level!

  • Updated flowcharts that describe the Land Development Process in Orange County are now available (PDF - 647 KB).
  • In his 2005 State of the County Address, Mayor Richard Crotty revealed a new strategy for Southeast Orange County. Calling this region Innovation Way, the Mayor envisions a corridor suitable for high-tech, high-value employment. Innovation Way would link major activity centers from the University of Central Florida, centered on a new highway connection.
  • The 23,000 acre Horizon West in southwest Orange County continues to evolve. Detailed Specific Area Plans (SAP) have been approved for Lakeside Village, the Village of Bridgewater, Town Center, Village H, Village F, and Village I.  However Village I was found to be not in compliance by the Department of Community Affairs and will not be effective until the issues surrounding that finding are resolved.
