The Highway Construction Division provides full-time inspection and construction administration for all Public Works Capital Improvement Program projects. This division also provide construction support services for other Orange County departments and divisions within Public Works. Some of the many projects inspected by this Division include major County roadways, bridges, intersection improvements, sidewalks, pedestrian trails, streetscaping, community development projects and various water-quality projects.

As Orange County continues to grow in population, the Highway Construction Division keeps crews busy building new roads and bridges to handle the increasing traffic on County roads. The division works closely with other Public Works divisions to plan ahead for future development.

The Highway Construction Division oversees a wide range of projects using numerous construction contractors to complete the jobs on a timely basis. Public Works employees oversee each and every project to assure that the highest standards are met.

Highway Construction The inspectors work as a team with the contractors to ensure quality work is performed and progress is kept on schedule and County standards met. The operation and capital improvements budgets for this Division are funded from gasoline tax revenues and road impact fees.
