Mayor Teresa Jacobs and the Veterans Advisory Council Honor Fallen Heroes this Memorial Day

Orange County, FL - Citizens are invited to join Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs and the Veterans Advisory Council in remembering and saluting the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our Armed Forces this Memorial Day. The annual Orange County War Memorial and Wreath Presentation Commemoration Ceremony will take place at the Orange County Courthouse at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2016. The event is free and open to the public.

“We join our grateful nation in honoring the selfless sacrifice of the brave Americans whose courageous spirit and noble sacrifice will never be forgotten,” Mayor Jacobs said. “As we pay tribute to our fallen hometown heroes on Memorial Day, join me in also remembering those who currently serve in our Armed Forces with valor, courage and honor.”

Mayor Jacobs will deliver remarks and present a proclamation during the commemoration event. She will then be accompanied by members of the Veterans Advisory Council, in a wreath laying ceremony, which will be followed by the playing of “Taps” to commemorate the fallen heroes.
