Orange County Utilities Announces Information Sessions for its New Automated Curbside Collection Program

Orange County, FL – Residents of unincorporated Orange County will receive new garbage and recycling collection service beginning January 1, 2016. Under the new program, homeowners will receive garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections once per week; use two 95-gallon roll carts (one for garbage and one for recycling collection); and schedule large item collection. To ease residents into the transition, staff in the Orange County Utilities Solid Waste Division will host weekly information sessions beginning the week of September 14.

Residents are invited to stop by and talk with Solid Waste Division staff anytime during one of the information sessions. Not only will attendees learn more about the program and get their questions answered, but they will also have an opportunity to see, touch, and try out the new carts that will be used for garbage and recycling collection.

“We are excited to offer these information sessions to our residents,” said Jim Becker, manager of Orange County Utilities Solid Waste Division. “They are just one more way to help our residents stay informed about the changes to our collection program.”
