Orange County Fire Rescue Announces New Manager of Emergency Management Division

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oct. 30, 2015 – Orange County Fire Rescue is proud to announce the appointment of Ronald Plummer to manager of Orange County’s Emergency Management Division.

“We are pleased to promote Mr. Plummer to serve as the new manager of our Emergency Management Division,” said Fire Chief Otto Drozd III. “He brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge to the role, and we look forward to his leadership.”

Plummer is responsible for the overall preparedness of Orange County, managing the daily emergency management functions, developing emergency plans, policies and procedures, coordinating major incidents, and activation of the Orange County Emergency Operations Center.

Plummer joined the Emergency Management team at Orange County Fire Rescue in 2003 following a successful 27-year career in both the U.S. Army Reserves and active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has earned numerous certificates in emergency management – locally and at the state and federal level.

He graduated with a General Studies degree and a minor in Business from Columbia College.

Plummer currently resides in Apopka with his wife, Cynthia. He has four children and four grandchildren, all of whom reside in Orange County.
