Enabling Legislation:
A resolution was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on September 9, 1997. On October 9, 2001, the Board adopted a resolution increasing the membership from five members and one alternate to nine members.
Membership:
The advisory board shall consist of nine members. All members shall be residents within Orange County throughout their terms of office. Two members shall be owners or employees of non-residential property situate in the MSTU/BU. Seven members shall be residents within the MSTU/BU throughout their terms of office. Members shall be appointed by the district commissioner and confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners.

- 2 Sand Lake Pointe Representative
Term Length: 2 Years
Term Of Office:
No member shall serve more than two consecutive full terms, but provided that all members shall serve until their successors are appointed.
Powers and Duties:
The primary responsibility of the Big Sand Lake Advisory Board is to assist and advise the Board of County Commissioners in providing for the general improvement and enhancement of Big Sand Lake.
