Work Release Center
Our Mission
horizontalbar
Our Mission
The mission of the Orange County Corrections Department Work Release Center is to provide selected inmates an opportunity to take responsibility for their financial obligations, while preparing them for a successful transition from jail back into the community.
Our Vision
horizontalbar
We envision a model Work Release Program that prepares inmates for successful re-entry back into the community. The Center provides the tools and resources necessary to make a positive contribution to the community while providing a safe and secure environment.
Future Plans
horizontalbar
The Work Release Center will continue to strive for excellence by demonstrating for inmates a positive attitude and a mentoring philosophy. We look forward to continued success in implementing programs, enhancing relationships with the community, and being a part of the solution to decrease the recidivism rate.
The Work Release Center

The Center

The Work Release Center is a non-secure community-based facility that houses a maximum population of 308 inmates and "extends the limits of confinement" as defined in Florida Statues. It serves to reduce jail population and allows offenders to be productive tax-paying citizens while supporting their families and paying court-ordered sanctions.

The Work Release Center provides a setting promoting positive social behavior through mentoring, employment, programming, and counseling.
Programs
horizontalbar
The Work Release Center will provide opportunity for inmates to participate in programs through an assessment and evaluation process. These programs address substance abuse, domestic violence, literacy, and personal development. All programs are staffed by community based trained professionals.
Case Management
horizontalbar
Each Work Release Inmate is assigned a Case Manager who assists in the preparation of financial plans that include court-mandated costs such as restitution and child support. The Case Manager will monitor court order sanctions, assigned programs, and make referrals to necessary agencies for additional needs.
