Welcome to Orange County Public Works. Our Department is made up of eight separate divisions with over 600 employees. We are working to engineer Orange County's way to the future. Click on the links at right to visit each one of our divisions for more information on Public Works.

Mission

The Public Works Department represents a functional grouping of divisions meeting a common goal - to provide for the County's infrastructure needs through proper placement and maintenance of roadways, drainage structures, pedestrian walks, and traffic control devices. Our mission is to promote the health, safety and welfare of Orange County residents.

Capital Improvement Program

The Public Works Department offers a Capital Improvements Program that provides the means through which Orange County Government takes a planned and programmed approach to utilizing its financial resources in the most responsive and efficient manner to meet its service and facility needs. The program is developed from departmental requests and is based on studies of financial resources available and consistency of proposed improvements with the adopted Growth Management Policy.
