Orange County Firefighters Respond to an Unknown Device in West Orange County

Orange County Fl., Just before 8:00 p.m., the Orange County Fire Rescue Department, the City of Ocoee Fire Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Vizcaya Lake Apartments, located at 1139 Vizcaya Lake Rd. in west Orange County, for an unknown type device.

Upon arrival, crews found an inert device with smoke emitting from it. A unified command was established and crews from the three agencies investigated the entire complex finding 3 more devices that were either inert or had defused themselves.

The situation was mitigated without injury to any of the residents of the Vizcaya Lake Apartments. There were no evacuations, as the unified command felt the residents could safely shelter in place.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
