The Census 2010 Homeless Subcommittee and the Network are key players, partners, and facilitators, committed to assisting the 2010 Census enumerators with the counting of the sheltered and unsheltered homeless.

Examples of funding to local homeless agencies based on Census counts
The Coalition for the Homeless, a shelter for homeless individuals and families, and Covenant House Florida, a shelter for homeless youth, are examples of homeless agencies awarded federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) as a result of Census data from the previous Census.

About the 2010 Census
The 2010 Census is a count of everyone living in the United States and is mandated by the U. S. Constitution.  Census data are used to distribute congressional seats to states, to distribute more than $300 billion in federal funds to local, state and tribal governments each year and to make decisions about what community services to provide.
Please join us to ensure a successful count in 2010!
