Adopt-a-Park Program

The typical volunteer group size is 1 to 30 individuals. Volunteers may be asked to perform duties such as removing litter, light landscaping work, graffiti removal, trail maintenance, and other park-related projects to enhance park locations.

The individual or group must also commit to a minimum number of volunteer hours:

  • Four hours per individual per month.
  • For school groups, commit a minimum of 120 hours of volunteer service per semester during the school year.

Getting Started

Adopting a Park is Easy!

Adopting a park is easy. Schedule a time to meet with the site supervisor at your favorite park to discuss how you can help. Make sure to write a cover memo to accompany your application with the following information:

  • The individual, group or organization’s name for consideration.
  • Why you wish to adopt the particular park site.

Register

Complete an Adopt-a-Park Application packet for your group or organization and the Orange County Parks Registration/Release Form for the program contact.

Submit your application at the site where you wish to volunteer and it will be considered for approval by Orange County’s Parks Advisory Board.
