Our History

In 1999, Orange County led the state in Heroin overdoses (36) and other drug overdoses (39). Former Chairman Mel Martinez responded to the drug problem and the alarming number of Heroin overdoses by creating the Orange County Drug Free Coalition. He reached out to 15 key community stakeholders to strategically combat the drug problem in Orange County.

Our Mission

To work in collaboration with community members and agencies to prevent and reduce the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs among our youth and adults through prevention, education, enforcement and treatment.

Drug Prevention Strategic Plan
