Process
Complete and submit an application for a
Gas Permit (PDF).
Homeowners doing their own work are required to complete an
Owner Builder Disclosure Statement (PDF).
An owner-builder may act as Contractor under
Exemption to F.S. 489.103(7)(a).
Only a
Licensed Contractor
is allowed to give
Power of Attorney (PDF)
to an agent. Power of Attorney must be original, site specific and notarized.
If value of work exceeds $2,500, a
Notice of Commencement (PDF)
is required.
The following information is required for permit issuance.
Building Class: New or Old.
Type of Building: Residential, Commercial or Mobile Home.
Type of Work: New, Alteration, Addition, or Repair.
If new construction or addition, we need to know the building permit number.
What is the estimated value of the job?
Type of Gas: Natural or Liquefied Petroleum Gas.
How many outlets are being installed?
What are the outlets for?
What type of appliance is being installed? (E.g. dryer, fireplace, furnace, range, water heater, grill, pool heater, spa etc…).
What is the BTU for each?
What is the delivery pressure?
What is the estimated value of the job?
Application is reviewed for compliance.
For approved applications, an invoice is issued which must be paid by the applicant to the cashier.
The gas permit is issued to property owner or contractor.
