Biosolids Recycling

What biosolids are and how they're used

Biosolids Recycling

Biosolids are nutrient-rich organic materials resulting from wastewater treatment. We recycle all of our biosolids as high quality fertilizer that is used on agricultural lands in Central Florida for cattle grazing and sod production.

The Orange County Utilities Water Reclamation Division follows the National Biosolids Partnership's (NBP) Code of Good Practice and has an NBP-certified Environmental Management System (EMS) for its biosolids operations and management.
