Who We Serve

The District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office serves the public and the judicial needs of Orange and Osceola Counties by performing quality, efficient, and timely death investigations with dignity and respect for the decedents, and to determine the cause and manner of death as mandated by Florida Statute 406.

What We Do

The purpose of the Medical Examiner's Office is to bring expert and independent medical evaluation to the investigation of deaths that are of concern to public health, safety, and welfare of the community.

Our Staff

The District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office is accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME). Our office consists of a chief medical examiner, associate medical examiners, medicolegal investigators, forensic technicians, and administrative support. Learn more.

Hours of Operation

Business Office: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Death Calls: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Autopsies: Completed daily, 7 days a week
