In 2000, the Orange County Safe Neighborhood Program was established to empower volunteer neighborhood organizations in designated areas to build stronger communities and increase resident engagement!
The program works to strengthen neighborhoods by coming alongside leaders, fostering effective communication, expanding access to resources, supporting crime prevention, and enhancing neighborhood aesthetics and functionality- all with the goal of creating a stronger quality of life for residents!
These Safe Neighborhoods were established by the Board of County Commissioners to provide targeted support through a collaboration between the Orange County Neighborhood Services Division and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Nonprofit Safety Grants provide funding to nonprofit organizations in areas outside Safe Neighborhood designated boundaries. The funding is designated for crime prevention and public safety projects.
