“RCA” stands for Roadway Conceptual Analysis. It’s the process through which Orange County confirms the need to improve a road. At the heart of all Orange County RCAs you’ll find a fascinating mixture of scientific data and feedback from residents. With the approval of the Board of County Commissioners, an RCA project moves forward with final design, right-of-way acquisition and construction.
The Orange County Transportation Planning Division is conducting a Roadway Conceptual Analysis (RCA) study to evaluate multimodal improvements to the existing section of South Econlockhatchee Trail from Curry Ford Road to Lake Underhill Road, a length of approximately two miles.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate potential roadway improvements intended to enhance traffic flow and safety for all road users. The study will also assess the social and environmental impacts associated with proposed improvements. A final preferred alternative will be developed based on public input and technical evaluations of the proposed improvements.
The Roadway Conceptual Analysis study is underway. A public meeting to discuss the study results and gather community feedback is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026. A final preferred alternative will be presented at the conclusion of the study.
Orange County will host the first public meeting for the South Econlockhatchee Trail RCA study on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at Center Pointe Community Church, 9580 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL 32825.
The meeting will begin with an open house at 6 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and question-and-answer forum. Maps and displays depicting project information will be available for public review and comment. Project representatives will be available to discuss the study, answer questions, and gather feedback from residents regarding potential improvements to South Econlockhatchee Trail.
