Bicycle-Pedestrian Safety Study

Description

Orange County has initiated a bicycle-pedestrian safety study on University Boulevard between South Semoran Boulevard and North Goldenrod Road.

Purpose

The study will provide a technical evaluation of University Boulevard from South Semoran Boulevard to North Goldenrod Road to review the need for additional bicycle-pedestrian, and transit enhancements. This project will take both existing and future development, as well as Full Sail University’s Master Plan, into consideration. An evaluation of the existing traffic signal operations, signage and additional accommodations to facilitate the crossing of University Boulevard by bicyclists and pedestrians will be conducted.

Status

The consultant has reviewed comments from the 1st community meeting and is in the process of determining the preferred alignment.

Public Involvement

Newsletters will be distributed at the following three (3) milestones:

  • At the beginning of the design phase.
  • At the start of the right-of-way acquisition process.
  • When the project is advertised for construction.
