Seniors 55+ Provide Input on Staying Active, November 14
  • Take the Orange County Seniors Survey: tinyurl.com/OCSeniorsSurvey.
  • Orange County Parks and Recreation will host three open house public meetings to gain information from Orange County residents who are ages 55 or older regarding how they stay active, healthy and connected to their community. Each meeting invites residents to provide feedback on senior recreation facilities and programming needs. Questions? Email parks@ocfl.net or call Parks Marketing 407-836-6257. Meetings will be held as follows:
    • Thursday, November 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Meadow Woods Recreation Center, 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle, Orlando.
    • Wednesday, November 20, 6-8 p.m. at South Econ Recreation Center, 3850 S. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando.
    • Thursday, November 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Rosen JCC, 111184 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando.

FREE Movie in the Park: Wonka, December 13

  • Bring your family and friends to the park for the FREE Movie in the Park: Wonka! This fun movie (rated PG, 112 mins.) starts at 6 p.m., shortly after dark. Bring lawn chairs and snacks, or purchase from food trucks (if available). No alcohol allowed in the park; no pets allowed in the viewing area. Questions? Youth Programs

  • Youth Fitness Membership is available for free for ages 8 – 17 to use the gymnasium and game room at assigned times. Parent or guardian must be present to complete enrollment.

Adult Sports and Fitness

  • Fitness Center Memberships are $100 per year for ages 16 - 54 or $25 for 90 days; $75 per year for ages 55+ and active military. Membership includes access to fitness area and assigned times for gymnasium and game room. (Individual fitness classes are paid separately and do not require membership.)
    • The teen fitness center membership is for ages 16 and 17.
    • Parents must sign-up the eligible teen member.
    • The teen must be accompanied by an active adult member, over the age of 18 years old, for the duration of the workout.
  • Pickleball for adults ages 18 and older is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8-10:45 a.m. Cost: included with fitness center membership or $10 per day.
  • Volleyball for adults ages 18 and older is on Wednesday and Saturday 6-8 p.m.; cost: included with fitness center membership or $10 per day.

Seniors (Ages 55 and Older) Sports and Fitness

  • Bingo for seniors is every Friday 9-11 a.m.; cost: $2 donation. Have fun and win prizes!
  • Senior Martial Arts Fitness is a free fitness program for ages 55 and older, held on Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. Using traditional martial arts techniques and exercises taught in martial arts schools, this fitness class helps coordination, balance, breathing, cardio, flexibility, muscle strengthening and toning.
  • Seniorcise is a free fitness program for ages 55 and older, held on Friday 2-2:45 p.m. This exercise class consists of mainly sit-down exercise, with some limited standing exercises and stretches. It will focus on the five major components of physical fitness: flexibility, cardio, muscle strength, muscle endurance and body composition.
