COVID-19 Testing & Office Visits
Cigna members who visit an in-network doctor, whether at an office, urgent care clinic, or hospital setting for a COVID-19 test-related screening, will have those services covered at no cost to the member through May 31, 2020.
Cigna will also waive customer cost-sharing and co-payments for COVID-19 related treatment through May 31, 2020.
Please call your in-network doctor’s office first before seeking services to minimize your exposure. Additionally, you may use either of the Telehealth apps (Amwell for Cigna or MDLIVE for Cigna) or call them; their phone numbers are located on the back of the Cigna ID cards.
Finally, you may visit mycigna.com or contact the “Ask a Nurse” at 855-673-3063 for questions about your benefits and coverage.
Telehealth
Through May 31, 2020, COVID-19 test-related screenings with telehealth services are covered at no cost to Cigna members.
Due to an increased volume of calls on COVID-19, telehealth service partners are experiencing higher-than-normal wait times for their consultations over the phone and video.
Cigna is also making it easier for participating in-network physicians with virtual care capabilities to help covered members who are chronically ill or have weakened immune systems to transition from in-person office visits to virtual care through May 31, 2020. By expanding this support, Cigna is taking enhanced measures to protect our most vulnerable patients by mitigating exposure risks and alleviating transportation barriers.
Prescription Refills
For the state of Florida, Cigna is allowing the ability for patients to refill their prescriptions earlier than the expected fulfillment date for their next refill. This will help ensure patients have enough of their medications in the event that access to a pharmacy becomes more difficult.
Dental Care
The CDC issued a recommendation to delay routine dental care. Additionally, state and local government agencies across the U.S., in addition to the American Dental Association, have been advising dental practices to limit their services to emergency dental care during this time.
Many dental offices, including those within Cigna's networks, are limiting available appointments for emergency needs only or have closed due to state and local recommendations.
In the event of a dental emergency, customers should contact their dentist to service and guide their care options. If the dental office is closed, Cigna can assist you in finding care by calling 1.800.244.6224 or customers can locate care on mycigna.com.
Additionally, Cigna is providing resources free of charge for all customers, clients and communities to help manage high stress and anxiety through a 24-hour toll-free help line 1.866.912.1687.
